Poor Management and Treatment of Residents

I will update the review at some other time. This business run by Rainier Pacific Properties had my review removed from Yelp. Quick summary until I repost where I saved the original review: The owner, Gregg, is the only person you’ll deal with. Service needs are not fulfilled (example: I waited during a four hour window 3 times (and a 4th time my husband took off work) with no show and no call and not even an apology). The owner is condescending and rude to young females. Several in the building including myself were fed up with this treatment. I eventually broke the lease, because my husband was relocated. The owner lied to my husband and I in an email about when the new tenant was moving into our apartment (to get more rent). We caught him on the lie, of course, when we said we’d give him the keys on the last day of the month. He was awful on the phone and yelled repeatedly we were breaking our lease, as if we do not know after we gave our written 30 day notice. He harassed me repeatedly, and my husband had to send him an email to not address with me again about the lease. I was extremely stressed and distraught by his behavior. We left the apartment clean and as early as possible, because he initially pushed us to ‘get out’ by a certain date. He was so unpredictable, we attempted to work with him to lessen our stress… I did not interfere when the new tenant came to look, but I am very sorry for them and hope they are happy. Some additional info: The neighbors are nice, though you’ll hear lots of noise from below and above including walking. The floors are thin dark veneer over light wood and do scratch which tenants are accountable for. The windows are not allowed to be left open, stated through an email, though it gets hot in the summer. Those amazing windows are wood and brand new. If you live there quietly and never have an issue, the building is very nice. The people are very nice. I am upset by their treatment by him as well since many of us became friends through a monthly brunch… I had a neighbor who’s light fixture fell over 5 months ago while they were sleeping… it still is not fixed. I
Management has no appreciation for tenants, and I am sad we went through what we did. Furthermore, this manager/construction company (the construction company made ‘The Aspen’ and then created an LLC though it is all the same company) is very money hungry. I expect he’ll attempt something with withholding our deposit and pro-rated rent he tried to ‘steal’ (I have the emails showing this… it is all so unbelievable). I do hope my amazing neighbors have better experiences and the current owner realizes he should not be in this business of ‘people’s lives.’ I’ll update if anything further happens. Renter beware. I am so happy to be away from that man, which is very sad.
